Angela at Domestic Divapalooza has tagged me for the eight facts about me meme.
Rules and Stuff
The object of the game is to blog โ8 Random Facts About Myself.โ Here are the rules:
1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Donโt forget to leave them a comment telling them theyโre tagged, and to read your blog.
The Facts
What’s sad is that I actually had trouble coming up with eight facts about myself.
I did manage to come up with some things. Here they are (in no particular order):
- I have large feet. Size 10 to be exact. I have the hardest time finding shoes because, for some reason, when you wear size 10 shoes the manufacturers think that you must have wide feet too. I don’t. I have narrow feet.
- I love the colors blue and purple. I wear blue clothes often. Somehow, I rarely wear purple clothes.
- I love to read. I read every chance I get (which is not nearly often enough). Moreover, I want to teach my children to love to read.
- I took four years of high school French many years ago. Little did I dream that I would end up in Texas where everybody speaks Spanish. I can’t speak a word of French, but I can read it a little. <!–[endif]–>
- I love photography. I love to wander around with my point-and-shoot digital camera in hand and take photos. The butterfly photo on Wordless Wednesday is a lucky shot I got at the arboretum. The tulips photo used in my header is another lucky shot. (Both photos were cropped.)
- I have another blog. That blog, WritingThoughts, focuses on writers.
- I love couponing. Couponing is kind of my other hobby (besides blogging, reading, and taking pictures). The kids know that they are more likely to get something from me if there is a coupon for it.
- My home office is really in what was designed to be the breakfast nook in the house. That means I have no door. It can get loud at times.
The Taggees
I decided to tag some of my commentators.

You should try shopping for size 12 skinny feet shoes. LOL… I have learned that I just special order shoes off the bat, it saves a whole lot of headache and if I don’t like them I just ship them back. I have learned not to feel bad for shipping shoes back, but that was a hard lesson.
I am with you on photography. I went and bought the expensive camera though for this random picture hunts.
I wish I did coupons more. I cut them all nicely, but forget about them until they are expired and then get mad at myself for even having wasted my time cutting them.

Jennifer,
Special ordering sounds like a good solution. We are actually a family of big feet. My husband wears 13 1/2 in a man’s shoe. He has a lot of trouble finding that.
An expensive camera is on my wish list.
I used to be just like you with coupons. I’ll be posting about coupons in the next few weeks. Hopefully the information in that post will be as helpful to you as it is to me.

I am so thankful I wear a size 7.5 shoe – no problems here finding shoes. If only I liked shopping for them! My 34-year-old sister wears a size 5.5; she has to special order hers as well.
I also enjoy photography – mostly landscapes and things from the garden.
Hmm. I’ll have to put on my thinking cap to try and come up with some original things about myself that my online friends don’t already know.
Thanks for tagging me ๐

Yeah, my husband also has big feet. He wears a just 13, so I special order his too. It is easier to shop for him though as he will take any shoe off the rack anywhere he can find them.
Get the SLR with removable lenses, so you can always get new lenses. I made the mistake of getting the big single lens camera. I now want more versatility, but I can’t get it without getting another camera. I will be saving and getting rid of my expensive camera for an SLR which costs about the same now and maybe even less than my camera. I have a Sony R1, but got it when it was new before it was released actually. I pre-ordered it.
I look forward to coupon posts.

Hi Melissa! I bet you get the best shoe styles too! Oh well … I look forward to reading your post.
Hi Jennifer! I definitely want removeable lenses since I like to do closeups.

Couponing as a hobby… sounds like you have it down to a fine art form. ๐

Hi Yvonne! Thanks for coming by. Actually, I take all kinds of couponing shortcuts. I’ll have to post about it in the next few weeks.
